USA EPIDEMIC CORONAVIRUS COVID-19
Add to Lightbox DownloadQueues of ambulances arrive to service the Grand Princess cruise ship, some of whose crew and passengers have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and is berthed at the Port of Oakland in Oakland, California, USA, 09 March 2020. Passengers will be transported, either by bus to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, or by air to Marina Corps Air Station Miramar, North of San Diego, California, and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The Port of Oakland was chosen because it is a commerical port which is large enough and remote enough to allow the 3,500 passenger and crew members to get off the ship. The Grand Princess cruise ship is linked to California’s first death from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and other individuals who have tested positive who traveled on the same roundtrip cruise from San Francisco to Mexico last month.
